The former Harry's Delicatessen, was purchased by Manual Maloof in 1956 and became Manuel's Tavern. Although it is a local neighborhood eatery, it is commonly known as a place where the politians like to hang out. Jimmy Carter was here when he announced he would be running for president. It isn't uncommon to see state representatives having lunch here and hashing over the latest pending legislation.
Also, this is one of the best places in town for Team Trivia (which is Sunday nights) - let me tell you there are some tough competitors there and some of them are SERIOUS about their trivia.
The food is very good too - it is quite a historical hot spot and I always feel a tiny bit of excitment when I think about the political deals that have been made in that place.
